Has it really been that long...

Thanks to the old board eating stats I'm not sure exactly when I first started posting here at Torn. I do know that sometime in April 7 years ago I took the plunge and posted a reply to Patty (Silmarils, Feanor, Family Jewels [shocked]) and I can safely say nothing has been the same since ---now whether thats a good thing or a bad thing who's to say [;)]

So cheers to everybody who has made this place somewhere i could stick around for 7 years.!

Oh and as a mathom (desperatly trying to think of something) here's why I think the Barrow Downs should have been in FOTR

You probably need something to strengthen yourself on. Beer and chocolate? (they claim to be Swiss chocolate. We wouldn't want to risk the wrath of Fluffy by trying Belgian chocolates, would we? Hmmmmm, we probably would. But we wouldn't tell.)

For some peculiar reason, I think that Stonehenge shot is a very, very wet and threatening picture :-) I wonder why ...

I do actually have some chocolate at home - don't tell fluffy but its not swiss or belgian - its a spiderman easter egg (they were 3 for a fiver and I've only got two nephews so I couldn't waste it could I [angelic])

Only seven years? Just a blink in the eye of thise of us who have been here a whole seven and a half years!

[cool]

Happy TORNiversary, Hengist. And nice pic.

happy TORNiversary, my dear Hengist. [heart] You are one of the greatest fellows and sibs around!
And your picture is magnificent, very evocative. Yes, you're right. With the possibility of such emotion in a shot (even though it wouldn't have been Stonehenge[cool]) barrow-downs should have been in the movies. But it's hard to see how they could have included it without a passing reference to the yellow-booted Bombadil. Sounds like a bird, doesn't it?

Hengist was a pretty decent guy that didn't really deserve pop-tarts. (especially not the pink ones) If I want to scare him, waving with scissors is much funnier. Scissors and horse-clippers. *smiles sweetly*

For your longevity on the boards, and for that excellent picture. Do you, like me, circle around for ages, waiting until as many people are hidden behind the stones as possible? Gives a whole new meaning to the term 'stone circle'...
Cheers!

Wow...you've already had a lot of "returns"!

Intriguing idea for the Barrow-downs! The mound needs to be higher, but that could be special-effected in. I can see Frodo trying to ride through the pair in the middle.

Now...can you figure out the location of the stone circle in my avatar? (Hint: the pic is courtesy of my eldest, who travelled to that island to watch the moon being "given birth" by a mountain shaped like a reclining woman, then strangely skim the horizon, an event which happens once every 18-point-something years.)

I love it when people remember exactly what their first post was. Here's to your first post and all the others in the present and in the future!
