Has anyone been involved with a LotR-inspired wedding?

I was roving through MSN this afternoon and came across a Bing search promotion for some theme-inspired weddings. Has anyone out there had or been involved with a Lord of the Rings wedding?

The thought certainly entered my mind, however, I had to settle for naming our dog Gimli. IMO, walking down the aisle to "The Bridge of Khazad-Dum" would have been splendid.

It was in a church that was like the throne hall in Minas Tirith but the marble was white red and black: a totally fabulous location. They used Howard Shores music. The couple met in Lord of the Rings on line and had a ceremony there also. It was real cool.

but I would love to

in fact if Graham and I ever get married, I might stipulate that I want a LOTR theme
that would instantly cancel the wedding though - he can't stand any type of fantasy/make believe (sigh)
lol

a pretty traditional affair (fussy relatives and all that).

We did however use a few songs from the ROTK OST in the ceremony: Twilight and Shadow for the processional; Anduril during the signing of the register; and Return of the King for the exit (actually we just let the CD play through from there as everyone left the church... so technically The Grey Havens and Into the West were part of the ceremony as well.)

There were some other touches such as the Arwen Coronation Scene inspired tiara my bride wore and a white tree motif at the reception (actual leafless trees painted white, set with string lights.)

Well, I read on Wikipedia that they designed the throne room after Charlemagne's Palatine chapel. Not sure if anything else confirms this but it can be seen here:

The throne even has steps, though there's not as many as Gondor's.

But the perimeter looks a lot like the Great Mosque of Cordoba. That was the first place that popped into my mind when I looked at the the interior of the palace.

- I once met a couple who'd been married, in costume, at the spot where they filmed the Ford of Bruinen. But that wouldn't have suited me and mrs g; (though mind, we were married before either of us had read LotR). I just wouldn't feel right, somehow. And as for the wedding photos, which are to be kept for life - imagine if they were in a different theme; Star Trek, for instance - or Ally McBeal - anything that dates - they will seem, well, odd. Same gos for wedding photos based on the movies, I think. The Wizard of Oz; that's another one. Picture it!

And, supposing the happy couple (any happy couple; not necessarily the ones I met) - suppose they have an epiphany, and wake up one day and say 'Arrgghh - I based the happiest day of my life on - a movie!!' I suppose it's a bit like having a football team's name tattooed on your arm for the world to see, and then you stop supporting them.

No; it wouldn't suit me.
