Happy Chanukah to All!

Some Jew I am, I never know when the holidays are.

My mother's family is Jewish and my father's family is Greek Orthodox, and they used to argue about which holidays we should celebrate, and they finally compromised . . . by celebrating nothing. [crazy] [:(] And I never really got out of that habit.

Makes no sense to me -- if I had kids, I'd want to celebrate all the holidays with them (or maybe trade off in different years), and learn about lots of different cultures.

Anyway, thanks for the reminder. Now at least I won't sound totally clueless if any of my Jewish relatives happens to call and mention it.

Hope I got that right, the phrase for which the letters on the driedel - nun, gimmel, hey, shin - serve as an acronym: "A great miracle happened there."

It is extremely interesting that I reminded you especially in this holiday of Chanukah which tells the victorious story of Israel over Greece and that you personally have a background of both peoples.
But do remember that you're %100 Jewish because your mom is, and that's what matters.

I think that you should light up the Menorah.
