Find out your Hobbit and Elf names

I really like my hobbit-name: Daisy Foxburr of Fair Downs.

My elven name is a bit difficult to pronounce: Idril Ciryatan.

Like my hobbit-name better, luckily I'm more shaped like a Hobbit than an Elf, so that suits best.
 
My hobbit's name is Podo Boffin of Needlehole. Wish it was Crodoe Baggons of Hobbiton like in Lord of the Rings Online haha. That might give me an idea for a new character...

I am Mungo Frumblefoot of Bywater and Valandil Minyatur. I like the elven one!

I wonder what algorithm they use...it always gives the same name, so it must not be random...

PS: Does anyone know what Valandil Minyatur means?

My Elven name is pretty cool too: Finwë Oronrá. Anyone got a clue what that last word means?

Which can i legitimately use?? My abbreviated or my full length name?

that I'm a Hobbit named: Olo Bolger of Newbury
And an elf named: Findecáno Cúthalion

The elf name I always went with was Faenoldo Faroth, but I guess I was wrong.
 
This generator doesn't have any contextural logic behind it -- it's just a hash. It doesn't make any breakdowns, matchups, or lookups of the origins of our names, what they meant and the history the forms or of how they came to be, with how the same or similar meaning would have likely been in Middle-earth cultures. I don't think this is any more fun than generating a random number and calling it lucky. Sorry, I can't drink *this* Kool-Aide. :(


Btw- The "**" you referred to above the lower-case latin vowel "e" in your name are diacritic marks called "umlauts", or a "diaeresis". If you are using Windows and you are using a keyboard that does not support this character natively, you can get it by holding down the [Alt] key and enter "0235" from the numeric keypad: "ë" ... Linwë. You can also browse the Character Map utility to find other characters supported by the character "code page" currently configured with your OS language settings.

I did mine with my maiden name and then entered Mr Kels names and these came up

Hobbit
Me: Dimple Deepdelver of Brockenborings (rofl)
Mr Kel: Posco Bulge of Hobbiton

Elven
Me: Nienna Narmolanya
Mr Kel: Tathar Arcamenel

Then I entered Kelvarhin with my maiden name and got

Inwë Narmolanya

Strangely enough hubbys birth surname was the same as my maiden name in the elvish one.
 
there's no true translation behind it. I tried it with my German surname and with the English translation, and got different names. (Well, no wonder, why should this website be able to understand all the different names ...)

But it is fun nonetheless.
