Finally finished Minas Tirith

I started this painting last July and I didn't finish it until last month. I wrote the lyrics to Aragorn's coronation song along the edges, but I couldn't get a good picture. It was difficult to start, but it turned out to be wonderful practice and I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Art School?!!! Amazing!! You even have those mountains receding back to the left, with just the right sort of light and shadow.

The reference photo I used was like that and I didn't notice until you mentioned it. Good eyes! Maybe the sun melted the snow that was on Minas Tirith (?).
 
But it IS a magnificent piece of work. Far better than anything my hands have wrought in any visual medium. [:)] Thank you for sharing it.
 
So THAT'S what the Nazgul did after the Fall! Channeled all those ELECTRONS (negative energy, donchaknow?) to run hairdryers for MT! BRILLIANT! [laugh]
 
the anachronism you are referring to is the sun moving, which is utterly absurd
on the other hand we all know that hair driers were common household items in Gondor, though they had not yet made their way to Rohan

It only falls where it will look pretty. Either that or the Gondorians are more advanced than we thought and they invented snow plows. [:)]

That is totally amazing when I first saw it I thought it was a picture from the actual film, and I was like "okay so they put a picture from the film up whats so special? *reads post* ZOMG WHUUUUUTTT! THEY PAINTED THIS!!!...does not compute", the awe(and jealosy) I feel is taking over my mental capacities! It is so amazing! Keep on painting! I want to see more!
 
Lol, glad you like it. I have some other stuff posted on here, but you have to go a ways back. I have a couple other drawings I plan on posting later [:)]
