Favorite shot out of the footage we've seen so far?

Love this overhead of Hobbiton

This shot of Gandalf in a flaming tree really reminded me of the book

I think these draw me in because they're already established from The Lord of the Rings and form the basis of my anticipation.

Elrond: "There are some that would not deem it wise"

I look forward to see Elrond again. I think we will have several hilarious scenes between him and the dwarves.

The footage we've seen of "Fifteen birds" looked amazing, with the eagle swooping down behind Gandalf... straight from the book!

It's not how I picture him saying it when I read the book. But Ian delivers the line in a sort of light, innocent way that makes it sound like he's implying, "Wouldn't that be jolly?" when he's actually trying to lure Bilbo into something dangerous. In the book Gandalf does pretty much drag Bilbo into joining the quest, and it looks like that conversation is going to make that clear. (That and the scene in the trailer where Bilbo tries vainly to hide from Gandalf.)

I've said it before, but whenever I hear something about the film that gives me pause, I just replay the first trailer, fast-forward to the singing, and I'm excited again.

For me it is the best we have seen so far - though other parts look good to.

I love the lighting of the shot and the music just makes it a million times better - very atmospheric - love Balin standing up. For some reason it just looks right.

He's the harbinger of a new 3D technology, where you don't even have to go to the theater. The movie will come to you. Creepy Bilbo will be peeking in your widow on December 14.
