Extended Edition "Battle of Moria" feature screencaps

Question: is there a way to view the full size images in slideshow mode, or be able to click directly from one to the next? Or can we only click on one to open and view, then close it out and click on the next image to view it?
 
And I guess I also answered my own question hahaha.

But Thrors beard in the prologue looks suspiciously fancy. Is it just the jewelery that is CGI?
 
There is a slideshow option I could use when uploading, but I dislike it myself. I find it to be more hassle when searching. You could right click a pic and open in a new window so you don't have to go back as much.
 
What a bloodbath. I remember (from the Appendices, part 7) people literally pouring buckets of red paint to make the scene more bloody.


Oh, and the last screencap is Graham McTavish interviewed by his daughter. It was fun. "Dwalin wasn't bald when he was younger. He lost his hair through stress." [laugh]
 
With all these cool background dwarves without helmets or with different armour, that whenever we pull back to a CGI wideshot, added after the 3 film split that they all become identical armoured dwarves.
 
On my first viewing, I was amazed at how much CGI was involved.

This may have led me to believe Thrors beard was CGI as well. I did read a review that mentioned Thrors beard being CGI.

I'm still confused by it. If it's not CGI, it speaks for the aesthetic of the film in general. Everything looks almost too crisp. I wish I knew for sure whether or not it was.

That also means it's a great beard!

Rule of thumb for VFX: If the viewer doesn't know if what they're seeing is real, or fake, the production has done a great job.
 
a comment to the effect that Thror's beard was CGI in a review, may have been a joke. I'm sure it was fake (it, and the jewelry, were attached by some ingenious means to the actor's face, he did not grow it and then have the jewelry woven into it for shoots...
 
but can you imagine the weight of having that thing attached to your chin. Personally, I'm not dead keen on that particular design, but I guess it's ok.

Imagine if all of them had looked like Gimli, but with different coloured hoods. It would have been a nightmare to identify them!
