I remember Travis Fimmel when he co-starred on "The Beast" (Patrick Swayze's last tv show). It was unfortunate that the show had to end after one season due to Patrick's health but I wondered what would become of Fimmel and some of the other actors. Nice to see him show up in this series. He has his own unique facial quirks..the way he smirks, and sort of winks.
 
There is a lot to admire about this production. Really seems like it was shot 1300 years ago. I especially liked the battle between Earl Haraldson (Byrne) and Ragnar Lothbrok (Fimmel) -- no gratuity there, quite understated and realistic I thought.

I agree about Fimmel. He's great, if not delightfully complex, right down to his perfectly timed eye twitches and painful winces.

The only unlikely bit that stands out is the role of Raganar's wife as a sometime warrior. From what I have read about the role of women in Viking society that would never have happened. There were very sharp lines in roles and duties.

We are an episode behind at the moment (sitting on the PVR it is). Can't wait to catch up on it.
 
a look that has a realistic look that only film could give, but considering its television ...it looks great as it is.

I liked the Lord character and i really look forward to see how it ends.

My bet....Raghnar will flee his land to escape his brother and create a settlement in England...
