A co-Maia with Sauron surely he can endure the Ring long enough to blast Sauron (or whatever it is the Ring does with its opponent). If Sauron is then out of the equation, shouldn't the Ring stop being evil since its maker was defeated (and this time a bit more thoroughly than some finger cut off) ? Or is the Ring extra-evil and would sabotage and not work against his own creator ?
