A sisters' dilemma

MaeBeth

My sis hasn't read the book, so she doesn't know about...the BO5A.....To any Thorin girls, do you have any ideas how I can comfort her, when the time comes? Thanks[sorry]

No, seriously, I don't think PJ & Co. would inflict an abomination of that magnitude on us. There really would be rioting in the streets.

And I gotta say, I'm a very proud big sister. She's like Thorin (but nicer[sly]) Thank you all for replying[heart][heart][heart][heart]

If so, no doubt you will also experience your share of emotion when this part of the story is dramatized. Comfort can be had in just knowing someone else, especially someone close, feels the same way you do. Just because you and many of us know what's coming doesn't mean it's going to be any easier to watch. I fully expect my tear ducts will be gushing -- and that my husband will respond by rolling his eyes and shaking his head. So your sister is lucky!

Also keep in mind by time she gets to this part of the tale, she will be over a year older and more mature.

That's my two cents, MaeBeth. Best wishes! [:)]

make your AUJ re-watch into a celebration of the characters. Maybe make up a game, like a drinking game, but with chocolate instead! (I'd recommend avoiding alcohol during the grieving period. [unsure]) For example, majestic hair breezes are a dime a dozen, so they're worth something small, like, say, a Hershey kiss. Thorin-smiles are much rarer, so they rate, say, some expensive dark chocolate. For Fili...if you see one dimple, it rates a peppermint patty, both dimples at once, a chocolate-covered éclair. [laugh] I'm sure you get the picture--be creative. [cool]

(Congratulations to you both on your good taste preferring those particular Dwarves, BTW! [;)] [angelic])

Now for Fili, does anyone make a lovely butterscotch with dimples in it.....? Sort of his gestalt really.

With all that their doing now, Thorin will live, Smaug will be brought back to life through Necromancy, the Witch-King will save Bilbo, Tauriel, Thranduil, Legolas, Kili and Bilbo will be involved in a love five-angle, Radagast will die, Saruman will sabotage the attack on Dol Guldor by sticking some stooges on Gandalf and Galadriel, and Dave Gahan will sing a heartrending, angsty song at the end. That's all the ridiculous ideas I have right now. Enjoy everyone! [laugh]

just have her read my sig.

this is the actual ending that was filmed, but (probably) won't make it into theaters or the dvd releases. however, it's the definitive director's cut, so you can assure your sister that thorin is alive and well.

and will stay that way.

cheers : )

And if I can't get her to read it (she's literally been reading the same book on her kindle since she got it, a year or 2 ago[tongue]) I have boatloads of time.
Thanks again everyone!
