First Lord of the Rings reading experience: I never really had an interest in Tolkien until last year. It all started with The Hobbit. I had to read a book for something and i had to pick out of like two books, and for some reason I just gravitated towards The Hobbit. After I read it, I loved it so much that I read it two more times before I had to return it. After loving The Hobbit so much I needed more, and there was The Lord of the Rings, right there, begging for me to read it. I dug right in, and so began a three month long journey to read the books, and it was amazing. I have read so many books but the best books I have ever read are by far The Lord of the Rings (and The Hobbit). I then watched all the movies and they are now my favorite movies ever. I'm new to the Tolkien community and I'm so excited to finally be a part of it!
Favorite Tolkien character: I have five favorite Tolkien characters: (in no particular order) Bilbo Baggins: because he is the first Hobbit I fell in love with, so of course he will always be dear to me. But that isn't the only reason, it's also because (in The Hobbit) he is very relatable I think, like the inner struggle he has between the two sides of himself and in the end he finally accepts who he is, also he is very brave and does things that nobody thought he could do, and even he didn't think he could do the things that he did. Bilbo is very admirable. Frodo Baggins: because what he did is so brave, and he is so sweet and kind. He sacrifices so much to save Middle Earth and in the end, he defeats Sauron, a little Hobbit defeats this incredibly powerful dark force and you can't help but love him. Of course Frodo couldn't have done what he did without: Samwise Gamgee: How can you not love Sam? He was probably the sweetest Hobbit in Middle Earth. He also was so brave (seems to be a common trait amongst heroic Hobbits) and the love and devotion he shows to Mr.Frodo is so sweet. Without Sam, Frodo would have never completed his Quest. The friendship between Frodo and Sam is representative of the truest friendship one could have, they love and care for each other so much (they would die for each other) and that is incredibly admirable to me. Sam is the best friend we all wish we had. I also love Pippin and Merry! So pretty much all the main hobbits earned a place. (:
