Ok, so I was inspired by the previous post, but which Orlando Bloom character would be victorious?

Will's a fine swordsman but you can’t beat Legolas on dexterity.
May your beer be laid under an enchantment of surpassing excellence for seven years! ~~~~~~~~Gandalf~~~~~~~ Listen, strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government!

He has ranged shots and the way he used his knives he'd be able to pull off a blocking slide and rush manuver.

Both good characters but Legolas would win. Awesome with bow and in film was ultra fast in using his knifes. Legolas was the coolest cat on the planet!

an elven warrior can beat just about anybody! That said, I still prefer Orli in his natural hair color.

Elizabeth gives Legolas a big "good luck" kiss just before the match. The Elf then finds himself handcuffed to a runaway mumak.
****************************************** The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

That isn't my enactment period, but I should point out that the "socks" in question are actually thight high knit stockings that are held in place with the buttons on the lower part of the breeches and leather garters that work like small belts around the knee. So the functionality of those 2 garments are about the same. I know some enactors from that period. You can see the garters in this pic. the one who's about to die is wearing them, but since they slid down, I don't think he tightened them properly.
PS: This was supposed to be in response to the post above this.

I mean Will really is a great guy and fighter, but Leggy would shoot Will down before he even got his sword out.
Dagonet, Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne In the Land of Mordor where the Shdows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

My money is on Legolas. ~~~Personal Theory Alert~~~ However, at the risk of being banished, was it not Will Turner that helped pack theatres with fangirls during the opening run of TTT? Pirates figured heavily in the continued success of the film trilogy -- it helped propell it from wildly popular to uber phenom -- primarily owing to Will Turner. (of course the attendant period when the bandwagoneers -- manipulated into believing they were tired of swords and horses -- "moved on" was quiet and brief enough to be merely annoying. Though the effect it had on Pirates II is when Legolas ultimately prevails over Will.)

The elf has been fighting for 3,000 years. Will Turner for maybe 10. Legolas can use a sword (I assume), knives, bow and arrow, and how knows what else. Turner can fence. Legolas also wouldn't be distracted by Elizabeth (or Jack Sparrow, for that matter) at every turn.

"O Elbereth! Gilthoniel! We still remember, we who dwell In this far land beneath the trees, Thy starlight on the Western Seas." "It was Sam's first view of a battle of Men against Men,and he did not like it much. He was glad that he could not see the dead face. He wondered what the man's name was and where he was from; and if he was really evil of heart, or what lies or threats had led him on the long march from his home; and if he would not really rather have stayed there in peace..." "Many folk like to know beforehand what is to be set on the table; but those who have laboured to prepare the feast like to keep their secret; for wonder makes the words of praise louder."

[The following text is for entertainment purposes and may not be used against the author in a court of law] If the two endeavoured to cross blades I'd have to say Will would come out on top, he's a wizard with that rapier of his. On the other hand if Legolas said 'screw this' and whipped out his trusty bow, Will would pull out his musket. Then the question would be could Legolas shoot an arrow from his bow before Will Turner could shoot off a round from his musket. No he couldn't, Legolas dies even though he had the element of surprise...what a pansy. What if Turner was the dirty fighter and he pulled out his musket just as Legolas unsheathed his knives, then it's safe to say Legolas would die...again. If they had a ranged duel where neither had the element of surprise? I'd have to say Will. Hand to hand combat? Neither of them could comprehend it so they would both go home. Just what formed in my head, I'm not biased, Legolas is actually my favourite of the two.
