Gardeners VS Guests Can't Post

An army of gardeners with wheelbarrows, versus party-guests who have remained behind quite vertantly indeed and would rather not be budged from the festivities even though the sun has risen upon a workday.

Life is beautiful and dangerous! Beware! Enjoy!

If the gardeners are as determined as Sam, the guests don't have much of a chance [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't think there's any amount of whining, rolling, or falling out of the wheelbarrows that will save the party guests Cool

Without a doubt [In reply to] Can't Post

gardeners! These are people who regularly attack pests and invaders of all sorts...often while imagining the faces of people who annoy them. Ever savagely hack at a nasty root or a stubborn clump of coarse grass when you're angry at somebody? I know I have. We build muscle... and take no prisoners! ;)

I dunno, the guests at this weekend's party seem to be pretty tenacious. [In reply to] Can't Post

Looks like there are quite a few who are still un-budged.

Guests. [In reply to] Can't Post

The Guests have stockpiled their weapons: barrels of Old Winyards and trays laden with seed-cakes made with a secret ingredient found only in the Old Forest.

As the Gardeners arrive, the Guests inform them that of course, they will move, but first why don't you join us in a last bit of refreshment?

The Gardeners, never ones to pass up a taste of fine wine - especially when it's free - gladly sit down to a nosh and and a nibble.

Sleep overcomes them shortly after the second glass and third cake, and as they doze peacefully the Guests continue their celebrating.

Ah, but [In reply to] Can't Post

the Gardeners were already promised those few left-over goodies as an incentive for cleaning up quickly...and they aren't about to share them with any lazy/drunken/sleep-walking & eating/etc. loafers hanging about trying to cheat them out of their fair share! ;)

Ahhhh, inhale [In reply to] Can't Post

but the guests brought pipe weed and are quite willing to share a pipe. No gardener would be so rude as to refuse. this would cause the gardeners to let the guests dawdle about. at least until dinnertime

*hauls out supplies* [In reply to] Can't Post

Those party guests are already on the compost heap. The heat generated by the compost's decay further lulls the sleepy, over-full guests and they don't budge once they are dumped out of the wheelbarrows onto the pile.

The gardeners, meanwhile set about trimming the grass that had grown up around the sleeping guests and in no time the party field is restored to its verdant splendor.

*sweeps up the last of the crackers and streamers*

And suddenly the Ainur saw afar off a light, as it were a cloud with a living heart of flame.

I'm glad to hear... [In reply to] Can't Post

...that the little rascals finally woke up, themselves, and remembered their duty. Nice, warm compost...
