I recently noticed while going through the trailer frame by frame, that one of the dwarves is using a slingshot. I'm fairly sure it's Ori, and it makes sense as he seems to be the 'nerdy' one, and probably not much of a warrior, thus a ranged weapon.

So......Bombur with his Ladle, Ori with his slingshot, Oin with his ear-horn. Bifur with is Axe (in the head)  ........

Really, a nice find! Though I wonder how much damage a slingshot can do against a Troll? How effective they can be?

So why NOT a Slingshot...?

Very good catch! Out of curiosity, what time does this occur in the trailer? I can't seem to find it to save my life!
In the first picture, I feel like the facial structure and hair look more like Nori (that might just be because of the in-action screencap, though). However, I'd personally rather Ori be the one to use a slingshot. As others have said, it's somehow very "fitting" for him.... dare I say that it's almost endearing?
Again, I can't stress enough how pleased I am with the way the Dwarves are turning out, in terms of individuality. They are each truly unique, and I definitely feel that we will have 13 very unique, very memorable, very beloved Dwarves. :)

Well, yeah...
Though I've understood the slingshot David used was handled differently... my English fails me to explain in enough detail, but I though David swinged the stone he threw in air to give it more force.

I laughed when I saw the comments about Ori taking a photo with his cellphone.
And yeah, it's certainly not Nori; He is seen running straight into the battle with his mace at the ready, just to the left of the slingshotter (which I assume to be Ori). The ones I've been able to make out is Gloin, Bofur, Nori, Ori, and Bifur.

From left to right: Glóin, a dark-haired dwarf I assume to be Thorin, Nori, Bofur, Bifur. The slingshotter is just out of frame, to the right.

That is so cool haha. That's gonna make quite a group of dwarves lol. How much damage it'd make though - depends on what he shoots maybe? Maybe it's magical
