Those are two of the scenes I'm most excited to see! I hope they deliver! You should add the Spoiler Alert banner to the title though.
"Is it not a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt for so small a thing? So small a thing! And I have seen it only for an instant in the house of Elrond! Could I not have a sight of it again?"

the chariot scene and extra battle footage are very low on my wish list, same level as Alfrid's death.

More battle shots, more Bard in Laketown, a mention of Thrain and a funeral.

And I think that if the pacing that improves, it's for the better. But mostly I wish we get to see the Durin's fighting and getting the funeral they deserve. As well as Dain's coronation and any other scene which can bring the movie to a better closure, of course.

The pacing is greatly improved, the new battle scenes mostly revolve around the Durins, and the funeral+coronation is there. Great stuff, all-around.

It should have been hours ago! In the US Central time zone, the theater event ended just two hours before you posted your note. Do allow some time to visit the loo (Hey! The movie was 3 hours long!), the long drive home, picking up some food at a drive-through on the way (my first meal of the day, actually), and then to get home, start up the computer, and actually write something. What more could you expect? Spoilers sent from cell phones while they were screening the film?

I was trying to say that I would have loved if WB had shown a video about the chariot race and some of the other rumored scenes instead of Legolas riding the bat and the two other teasers, which we had already seen. It was not a complain about those who went to see the movies, I'd never do that.

Most of my complains with BOTFA were the rushed pacing and the lack of closure for some characters. I'm glad that the pacing was greatly improved, and that some of the characters had a better closure this time around. It would have been wonderful if everyone had got their moment, though, but at least it seems the EE is so much worth it than the TE.
