Coincidence.

Total coincidence.
Lord I give you everything, Anything you want from me Take my past and my future I lay it at your feet Yeah, I'm after your heart, you've stolen mine I give you my all 'cause you gave up your life I'm not who I was simply because, Oh, you set me free And you change me from what I used to be Opened my eyes, now I can see You're making this life so beautiful So beautiful ~"Beautiful" by Dan Bremnes

Auriel is an archangel. The mermaid is Ariel (also apparently a symbolic name for Jerusalem!).

Well, that last reply was to DainPig's post. But I'll believe you when you can convince me that Kili is Flounder (or is Legolas Flounder?).

You just ruined that lakeside scene for me. Forever. *&^%$. IMO that was the best Kili/Tauriel scene in BOFA. ROFLOL . Now I just need to decide if I am really going to get rid of the Chronicles page w. EL talking about Tinkerbell as her inspiration, or just let it go.....or just paste some Thorin pictures there.....

because I need a chocolate fix and they were all I had....and you about made me spew them all over my poor laptop with Kili as Flounder! Bwahahahahaha!!!!! Someone should TOTALLY do a voiceover parody of Kili and Tauriel as Ariel and Flounder Gosh....I need to stop snorting (and need to get that mental image out of my head since I'm currently working on a new chapter for my fic that is NOWHERE near as hysterical as that). Sigh....thanks for the laugh!

that as he's hitting on Tauriel in that picture, there are dead bodies piled in the background.... I think that creepy factor far outweighs the (admittedly disturbing) likeness you have going on there...

She may be referring to the newer children's TInker Bell movies (with the fairies heavily involved in nature) rather than the moody, jealous, self centered Tinker Bell we saw in Peter Pan. I couldn't stand that Tink, but the Tink in the new movie series in Pixie Hollow is actually a polar opposite of the Peter Pan Tink, and I actually really enjoy those films with my girls. In that case, I can kinda sorta see bits of THAT Tinker Bell in Tauriel- the feyness and obvious bond with nature and wishing to be able to break out of her confining world to see more (in one of the new movies, Tink is so ecstatic to go to the Mainland, aka out of Neverland into our world, and is told to stay away from humans and their things even though she's extremely curious about them and their world (which she obviously doesn't end up doing), and that makes sense with Tauriel's longing to get outside of her realm and see the larger world as a whole, and chafing at the restrictions placed upon her). So the newer Tinker Bell movies I can actually see similarities with Tauriel, but the Peter Pan movies Tink bears absolutely no resemblance to Tauriel at ALL, aside from the pointy ears.

If you look at the actual scene, there is at least one (wounded? nearly drowned?) lying on the ground, but clearly alive and shivering, and others are moving closer to help him/them.
