Wilhelm scream in BOFA Can't Post

Is the Wilhelm scream in BOFA EE? It was used so poorly in DOS! (I'm not even a fan of the scream as is!)

It's been added to Fili's death scene. [In reply to] Can't Post

Tongue

Kidding.

No, it's nowhere in the film.

"The danger with any movie that does as well as this one does is that the amount of money it's making and the number of awards that it's got becomes almost more important than the movie itself in people's minds. I look at that as, in a sense, being very much like the Ring, and its effect on people. You know, you can kind of forget what we were doing, if you get too wrapped up in that."

Haha! [In reply to] Can't Post

Good. Honestly, that's a first. It had been in every Tolkien film so far. (Except FOTR.)

Wilhelm scream has the reputation to become a problem when repeated. [In reply to] Can't Post

Complaints repeated over and over about wilhelm screams carry the same kind of problem.

Just watch the appendices, and you will learn that movie uses many many other sounds.
Keep tracking them if sound is an interest for you.

And tell us.

I read about some of the soounds [In reply to] Can't Post

On Lotr's, and I find them very fascinating. I have been into the sound effects they put into the movies, (such as the luminous sound of when Arwen comes to Aragorn when he is holding Narsil, and the ominous sound effect of when Gandalf is telling Bilbo of the world outside his home in Bag end. I'm also fond of the temptation of the Ring sound effect.)

As much as I dislike the Wilhelm and PJ cameos [In reply to] Can't Post

I think it would be acceptable for BoFA to have them, just because the previous five did. But I think PJ knows it's a bit gimmicky and dated and I think it's the right idea to stop doing them in future projects.

It's interesting that BoFA is the only film with no PJ cameo, no Wilhelm scream and no prologue. It seems to be the odd one out of the bunch

As much as I love BOFA [In reply to] Can't Post

I have to agree. It is the odd one out. But in a way, it's the way it seems to fit in the bunch.

It was not used in Fellowship [In reply to] Can't Post

So the six film series is book ended by the absence of the sound effect.

In this case I actually wouldn't have minded it... [In reply to] Can't Post

If it was used for Alfrid's demise, as he's catapulted into the troll's mouth. Would've been hilarious, which wouldn't be out of place with a character that largely serves as comic relief anyway.
