Tauriel or Itaril???

I really don't like the idea of adding a new character.Still,i'm not sure about Tauriel, but now that I've seen her I wish I could see Itaril too.I might liked her better!!! Info:[ITARIL] FEMALE, A WOODLAND ELF, this character is one the Silvan Elves. The Silvan Elves are seen as more earthy and practical. Shorter than other elves, she is still quick and lithe and physically adept, being able to fight with both sword and bow. Showing promise as a fighter at a young age, ITARIL was chosen to train to become part of the Woodland King¢s Guard. This is the only life she has ever expected to live, until she meets and secretly falls in love with a young ELF LORD. This role will require a wig and contact lenses to be worn. Some prosthetic make-up may also be required. LEAD. AGE: 17-27. ACCENT – STANDARD R.P. So: Evangeline Lilly or Saorse Ronan???

Itaril is Quenya [S. Idril], so I think they replaced the name... ... with Tauriel 'Forest-daughter'.

I think it's clear the ELF LORD is Legolas

I remember when we thought it might have been one of Elrond's sons or the like.
all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us...

Itaril and Tauriel are essentially the same character

The character was tweaked a bit to bring her more in-line with Tolkien's Middle-earth and simply because the concept evolved beyond the original casting call. Honestly, I think that Saoirse Ronan (who is just turning 20 in April 2014) might have seemed too young to be taken seriously as an officer in Thranduil's guards.

Saoirse Ronan would have been perfect in either incarnation. KS

She is a young elf and wouldn't have been dissapointed if she played the role.

I'm sure that Ronan would have been fine as a Wood-elf

She is a young elf and wouldn't have been dissapointed if she played the role. Soairse Ronan was brilliant in Hanna and she would have been a terrific Wood-elf maiden. However, I think her youth would have made it hard to believe that she had risen to a position of great responsibility in Thranduil's guards.
