You know, it's entirely possible that's just how Hugo Weaving's face looks when sad. I've often gotten feedback that I looked angry when I'm not, or sad when I'm just being quiet and content. Perhaps your perception of what looks like a "sourpuss" differs from what others consider that. It's my opinion that he looked dour when needed, melancholy when needed, angry when needed, etc.
Elrond could be 'sad', i.e., melancoly, but not a sourpuss...... Besides, go back & read the quote I posted: 'There were many things both sad & happy (joyfull?) written on his face' Note: BOTH.......

I know here that EVERYTHING is perspective - even saying the sky is blue...... But, perhaps you haven't read this thread in it's entirity? It seems I'm not alone in this one.

But it's not wise to reply to every person in a thread, saying the same thing. Since you were the most recent, thought I'd just reply in linear fashion.

Just re-read.... Seems most people agree that PJ (uh-oh, I said PJ) made Elrond a bit over grumpy (to say the least). You know, "You will go to war, but not to victory.", etc..... Where's that in the book? Always casting a doomsday prophesy. That's why I call him 'Elrond the Grouch'... You know, like 'Saruman the Wise'.

But it appears you have a habit of telling people to re-read things that they know very well they've read. I responded to you and didn't respond to the two other people who agreed with the assessment. That doesn't automatically mean I haven't read the thread, and I take issue with the insinuation. At any rate, I was talking ONLY about his face. Not about the words he was scripted to say. Perhaps you should re-read what *I* said. Also: Repeating an opinion numerous times doesn't mean the person/people you're repeating it to will eventually agree.
