Hobbit Movie Help! Can't Post

Okay guys. I need some help as far as the whole Hobbit movie issue is going. I have seemed to be getting small bits and pieces of news of its creation, but nothing to where I can put it all to sense. Who is most likely to direct? If GDT does direct, will PJ have any part in production? Again if GDT directs, will LOTR actors such as Gandalf return? I really confused on this topic, and hope someone can fill me in! Thanks!

Torn's homepage [In reply to] Can't Post

has all the latest news, and it usually gets posted here on the message boards as well. There has been nothing official but GDT seems to be almost certainly directing with PJ as executive producer and Ian McKellen has said he will definately being returning as Gandalf. It's frustrating not to have anything officially confirmed but that maybe because of the current lawsuit. Others on here may know more Smile.

Nimloth is right. [In reply to] Can't Post

If memory serves me....

Guillermo Del Toro seems most likely to direct, having said that signing papers is the only thing left to do. Peter Jackson will be Executive Producer, which means he will have creative control over the project.

Ian McKellen is, and has always been, enthusiastic to return as Gandalf. He has recently said that he will "keep his calendar clear".

Andy Serkis, Christopher Lee, and Cate Blanchett have all expressed interest in reprising their roles. Del Toro has said he would be glad to have the original cast return.

Does anyone know if Hugo Weaving has commented on The Hobbit?

~~~~~~
Círdan saw further and deeper than any other in Middle-earth, and he welcomed Mithrandir at the Grey Havens, knowing whence he came and whither he would return.
'Take this ring, master,' he said, 'for your labours will be heavy; but it will support you in the weariness you have taken upon yourself. For this is the Ring of Fire, and with it you may rekindle hearts in a world that grows chill.'
