Ah the beautiful simplicity of Roman numerals: CL at last!
For a slight variation, this image is from the 1990 graphic adaptation by Charles Dixon and David Wenzel, for Eclipse Books. In my opinion, it's a very text-heavy adaptation, it should have been 4 or 5 issues rather than 3. But quite nice.
So here is our old buddy. Ignore the fragments of speech balloons. Maybe the caption is what Gollum's saying, or maybe the skull? And let's not have the skull saying 'Gollum, you look a little drawn'...
