I'm speaking by memory here, and might not be 100% sure of everything, but Guillermo Navarro is generally the cinematographer who works with Guillermo del Toro. He worked with GDT in Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy 2 at the least. Do you think he will return for The Hobbit? What do you think he can bring to the look of Middle Earth. I am not very savvy in analyzing cinematography, so does anyone know what we can expect from his work?

Here's his imdb listing: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0622897/ I'm not much for analyzing whether a cinematographer will always produce the same look for everything they do, but I'm willing to bet that the work he did for Stuart Little looks nothing like what he did for From Dusk Til Dawn.

Yeap, Guillermo Navarro made an excellent job in both movies, but if he can't my best choice will be Emmanuel Lubezki..... he's awesome!!!.....

Especially if they want to keep the look of Middle-earth... he's the man.

I imagine Cuaron is keeping him busy these days. Lesnie, Navarro, Lubezki - can't go wrong with any of these DPs.

Maybe, it's just because I'm such a big GDT fan but...

I would love for Navaro (spelling?) and GDT to work together on this movie. They've worked together on all but two of Guillermo's movies (if I am remembering correctly), those two being "Mimic" and "Blade II". I think Navaro would bring a different but wonderful beauty to Middle Earth.
