We cannot look too far ahead but I'm very curious to see how they plan to end BOTFA. My own theory is we will see Gollum emerging from his cave, possibly muttering Baggins, before the screen fades to black. We know that PJ likes a cliffhanger or tie-in between films so this is a definite possibility and I understand that Andy Serkis is listed among the cast for BOTFA. What do you think?

If you saw it on IMDB, don't trust it. For DOS there was the names of Andy Serkis, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving and Ian Holm on the list, until the last week left for the film.

Not needed in any way, imho.
A scene seeing him emerging from the cave doesn't lead to anything, imho.
I much rather have those seconds spent on the Auction, the last book scene, a nice Holm Epilogue, etc.
