Elvish wine alcohol content?

Just an amusing observation. We see Legolas in Two Towers out drink Gimli on ale, Yet in DOS we see a couple of Elves obviously abit worse for wear after a hard night on the grape. how much do you think those elves drank at their night party to get that passing out state? lol Or is Elvish wine a much stronger brew then the ales of men?

It's been a while since I read the book now, but I believe the elven guards got drunk and fell asleep after drinking wine from Dorwinion, a land by the sea of Rhûn populated by men. The wine was more of a brandy than a proper wine, I guess, and it was man-made if I'm not mistaken.
Now now Bill, you swore this was a battle between warriors, not a bunch of miss nancies, so warriors is what I brought

cannot be compared that way. Strong wine has 3 times as much alcohol content as beer does. Plus wine is much sweeter than beer. And beer pushes the bladder more than wine. So if you can drink 2 bottles of wine (1.5l) you can drink at least 5l of beer. Those mugs in ROTK hold aprox. 0.4l. That makes around 12-13 mugs. As I said. You can't compare it like that but it's kind of a benchmark, if you will...

There is quite a grey area when it comes to content, With all those barrels in the cellars, no doubt there would be a few imported drinks. So I should pose this, who do you think makes the strongest beverage? I'd think the dwarves would have some mean stuff. I dont want to know what Uruk wine tastes like lol (this is fast becoming a middle-earth alcohol thread )

When he heard this Bilbo was all in a flutter, for he saw that luck was with him and he had a chance at once to try his desperate plan. He followed the two elves, until they entered a small cellar and sat down at a table on which two large flagons were set. Soon they began to drink and laugh merrily. Luck of an unusual kind was with Bilbo then. It must be potent wine to make a wood-elf drowsy; but this wine, it would seem, was the heady vintage of the great gardens of Dorwinion, not meant for his soldiers or his servants, but for the king's feasts only, and for smaller bowls, not for the butler's great flagons. Emphasis mine.

The River Running travels downstream ... about 500 miles! to the Sea of Rhun.. but also there is another River .. "CARNEN' (Redwater) that Flows from the Iron Hills to join the River Running about 250 miles down ...BOTH go to that Sea.! About the same distance... sooo it's likely that Dain's Folk had Wine from Dorwinion too. Likely this was a Huge business... since it's UnLikely Greenwood the Great Nor the IronHills could have Vineyards? Trivia form Bomby It seems that BEER was the First medium of Exchange? in Mesopotamia (The Fertile Crescent) before ... MONEY was invented? It's Likely... Tolkien knew that? From that "OLDFossil" in the OLD Forest.. bomby (Who only drinks Beer)
