Dain's war hammer

Is it just me who was disappointed that Dain was wielding a war hammer during the BotFA? Dain is renowned across Middle Earth for his skill with a red axe and for wielding this axe just as well during old age. In concept art and behind the scenes footage Dain is carrying a beautiful, double-bladed red axe, one of the most aesthetically-pleasing weapons I've seen in Middle Earth in my opinion. However, for some reason, which as far as I know hasn't been explained, Peter Jackson decided to switch the axe and give Dain a war hammer; which actually looks very much like Thrain's anyway, so it isn't even unique. If Jackson had given Gimli a war hammer in LOTR, instead of his famed axes, there would have been uproar.

I was not disappointed, I like the war Hammer, it fits Dain. The red axe to me was not so special. Because first of all the axe was not in the hobbit and second of all I did not read the LOTR appendices. And comparing Gimli to Dain is not the best comparison because Gimli had the axe in three books but Dain had his axe only in the appendices in LOTR.

I have also wondered why he has a warhammer in the Movie but behind the scenes a red battleaxe. I saw in a behind the scenes Dain Ironfoot II he first had very much armor and a red battle axe and stuff, but peter tought it was not alike his personallty, so they changed. Dains Hammer and Thrains Hammer Dains is more like a big red hammer, meanwhile Thrains is like a warhammer on one side and a long Sharp spike on the other side. Both are red and pretty alike tought. Well so i Think they changed to match both Ironfoots and Billys personallity its more chrusing and knocking than choping with axe. There probally something i spelled wrong sorry for that.

It fits Dain's film personality perhaps

In the book, Dain is more wise and reasonable than PJ's depiction. He also wielded the read axe to behead Azog when he was 32 years old, so it's not as if he only started wielding the axe in later life.

Thorin? Thorin is not to fine to sing what the heck... How can you know if Thorin is not too fine to sing if you didn't read the book? Tolkiens original Thorin is very different from PJ's movie Thorin. And the beards are not to be taken that litteral. It had more to do with their hoods.

The dwarves has Yellow and blue beards like what the freak why whould they have colourful beards and why had they not Red and green beards? You might want to read 'yellow' as yellow-blond. And 'blue' might be interpreted as bluish-grey.
and then *- all started to sing but not thorin he was to fine to do that.., ... to fine? Thorin? Thorin is not to fine to sing what the heck... Thorin was too proud and self-important to join in on the song about poor Bilbo's plates and cutlery (and in AUJ he had not even yet arrived at Bag End), but he did play the harp and doubtless sang with the others about their home in "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold."

To me it just seems an unnecessary change, like so many others, that Jackson just seems to slip in casually, just for the sake of doing so.
