?Concerning the writers? Can't Post

So am I to understand that Peter will have a hand in writing this as well? I thought he was in the position of producer and consultant. If he is sitting in on the writing then I am starting to feel better about the feel of these two movies matching the feel of the LOTR movies, I was a bit concerned over some of the comments GDT was making about how much different these films were going to be because I personally really liked the look and fell of the other films and did not want to go to the movie and sit down to something that looks like the 300.

One thing I CAN guarantee is that NO film GdT makes will ever, EVER look like 300. Thank goodness. Wink

Welcome, sceptre73! [In reply to] Can't Post

Like you, I think the majority of people here are excited and reassured by the collaboration between PJ, Phillipa, Fran and GDT. Smile

A comment - be sure and look down the board before starting a new thread on a subject. There are already two threads on the subject of the writing of the Hobbit (due to two news stories one after the other). Our custom here is if there's already a thread on a subject on Page 1 of a board, to either post your comments in that thread, or wait until it drops off of Page 1 to start a new thread. Check out the Terms of Service and the FAQ on the Welcome board for more.

Other than that, enjoy!

After HB II any design fears I had vanished. [In reply to] Can't Post

I think movie buffs come to appreciate recurring motifs across films by certain directors (for instance Kubrick's massive interiors and Burton's roofs you can see the sky through).

Burton and GDT share a tendancy to use the same actors time after time... some might see this as a bit limiting, but then, many directors (ie Cronenberg) hire the same crew time and again as well. As with crew, working with the same talent can produce great results through intimate understanding.

There will be some insect close-ups for sure.

Thanks for the welcomes and all but..... [In reply to] Can't Post

I have been here for quite some time actually ever since I found the site before the first LOTR film came out, I think I found it through the official LOTR site but that was a long while ago and I don't really remember that far back, heck I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday, I'm just not usually much of a poster on any of the boards I'm on. I mostly just read but thanks for the welcomes and howdys it makes me feel.., well welcome and I have to say that this is a very civilized board in comparison to some I'm on that are just juvenile.
