Very cool indeed! [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm glad they showed the chess set in one of the shots-yet another little insight into Beorn's character that fans will appreciate.
On the subject of Beorn, while I wish that we saw more of him in this film, the dialogue scene around the table was great-I've already grown to like his character, and Persbrandt gave a really good performance. While I was initially unsure about the quality of his design for the film, I have to say that I think he comes across very well on screen! The design, in my opinion, looks impressive on film and helps to distinguish him from all of the other characters.

But who does he play with? [In reply to] Can't Post

Has he taught some of his animals to play with him, or does Radagast drop by from time to time?

I'm sure he plays with Radagast and the animals, but [In reply to] Can't Post

He may just play against himself (which can be surprisingly fun actually, as it helps you to understand how your mind works tactically and where your weaknesses lie).

Maybe he plays chess with his mice [In reply to] Can't Post

They seemed to be all over the board at least! Hah! I wonder if Beorn carved all those pieces himself or if he ordered it online from the Noble Collection? (NOT!)

Oh dear....I wonder if Noble Collection will eventually be selling Beorn's Chess Set???
