It dawned on me a moment ago that this is likely to be the final theatrically-released trailer for the series. How quickly two years have gone by! At least there's still the hope that Middle-Earth will come to theaters again one day. This realization will definitely make my first viewing of the trailer a little sad...

So sad that this is the end. I remember clearly the first time I saw the first Hobbit trailer. It was December 2011, and I had just arrived home from a long semester of my sophomore year at college and was ready for Christmas break. I saw the trailer on You Tube and was simply amazed by the mountains, the music, and the cast that had been assembled. How time has flown since then, and how amazing the journey has been!

I was all excited for the teaser and then it turned out to be so solemn in tone, I was torn between squeeing and crying through most of it. I have a feeling the full trailer will be the same.
"Home is behind the world ahead And there are many paths to tread Through shadow to the edge of night Until the stars are all alight. Mist and shadow Cloud and shade All shall fade All shall fade"

I almost don't want the trailer to come... It really is the end of this particular journey of middle earth on film, isn't it.
