This count is correct for the Theatrical Versions:
FOTR: 3
TTT: 9
ROTK: 16 + a Fell Beast beheading
AUJ: 6
DOS: 4
BOFA: ??
I've only seen BOFA twice but imagine it would be over 10.

Looks like LOTR has TH beat handily. By my estimation there are only about 7-9 in BOTFA, so there it is. I'll be honest, my impression was the opposite.
