The more I think about this, the more my origional guess as to the last part of the Riddle might be correct....
On what was it, Thurs or Fri, he said he'd know "within 4 or 5 days" if he would be going ahead with the project. Saturday, the day of Comic-Con, I was expecting all sorts of video footage by Sunday morning. Which we didn't immediately get.
Here's the timeline:
Friday: he said he'd know "within 4 or 5 days" if it was a Go
Sat: Comic-Con (no immediate video footage)
Sat night/wee hrs of Sunday morning (EDT): THE RIDDLE goes up, soon after, on his site too--hinting we'd have defenite good news soon
Sunday: the first IGN video
Monday: 2nd, more extensive video from Comic-Con (the kind of video I was expecting to come out by Sat night, the one where he goes into extensive detail)
It sounds as if the posting of the Riddle was his first indication that the winds were blowing favorably, and he felt safe enough to hint at some sort of a date by which he'd confirm it officially. By Sunday, he was sure; but it seems the official "permission": to begin the process of preparing The Announcement--the joint press conference with PJ in NZ he hinted at--will not be coming until the end of the 4 or 5 days. (Thus, 24 hrs--"add to [this] each day of the week.")
And so, while he waits for NL and Warner's to officially confirm to him his directorship, (which he now knows will happen), he is feeding us pre-prepared tidbits of news to keep us happy the rest of the week. The reason why those videos didn't immediately go up, I'm, thinking, is b/c if it had been a No Go, there'd be no need to show them. 'No need to get our hopes up, if it was a No Go. But it's now a Go, he can now release them.
So now, he knows it is happening, and the official "dotting of the i's and crossing the t's " will happen maybe tomorrow or by Thurs (the 5 days..."one for each day of the week.") Think about it: he has to sign the papers first. And over the wknd, he and PJ will be preparing the Announcement (you can't just dash this together), plus the Media have to be alerted.
Think about it, this process may take a couple days.
*Sigh* And I dashed home all excited from work....hope I am proved wrong! But I stick by my "Monday/beginning of News Cycle" prediction! Let's hope that a) I'm wrong, or b) he has a LOT more tasty tidbits to feed us this week! I have a hobbit's appetite right now!
Heck, I'd even take another Riddle!

Literally, whenever I am on my computer or laptop, I leave the TORn Home Page up, and refresh it every so often. Maybe not every minute, but at the end of an hour, I refresh it every minute for 5 minutes. I know, crazy, but I want to see The Hobbit announced.
