Walk to Rivendell... and Beyond! March 26 Can't Post

Greetings Fellow Walkers!!

Spring has sprung in Michigan and all over the place as the cold Winter months melt away. My 4th and final sign of Spring landed in my yard this week in the form of our state bird, the Robin. With the milder weather (not warm yet) planting itself in the yard, now I'm starting my mileage accumulation from snow shoveling (very little), housework *urp*, and the treadmill to cleaning branch debris around my many trees and other yard work. This is the stuff that makes mileage work very satisfying and productive :D

How about you and your change-of-season? Does your attention change? Regardless of how you spend your effort, everything counts! :D Every activity can be converted to mileage to keep you on your Quest.

Oh... and there's a little history to share about WtR. On March 18, 2003, jordan the discursive (Auxerre) found The Éowyn Challenge website and got us on the Road. TORn members began participating in The Éowyn Challenge and created our own Walk to Rivendell... and Beyond! thread where we shared our weekly progress. Now, over 20 years later, we have adjusted our WtR updates to once a month and the official site has sadly sailed into the West… but we're still on the move!

Meanwhile... back in Middle-earth... Galadriel, Celeborn and their Company have left the rest of us to return to Lothlorien. Elrond, Gandalf and the remaining Fellowship watch them until we see the distant flash of Galadriel's ring in farewell. Now we're on the last leg of this long goodbye from the war and all our friends. *sigh*

So please do share how you're coming along on your goal... even if it's just to walk through the days and events that keep us all on the Road :)

Take care! And I'll see you on that Road!

Walk to Rivendell... and Beyond! April 28 [In reply to] Can't Post

Greetings Fellow Walkers!

I hope you've been enjoying some great adventures on your Quest. Now that the weather has improved here in the Northern Hemi, there are so many ways to add miles to your journey. Let us know what your plans are to keep on moving and where you plan to land :D

I've got several hours of serious yard work ahead of me. Mostly the debris from our long winter. It's going to be so fun to finally have things put right :D

Meanwhile in Middle-earth, the party of travellers with Elrond, Gandalf, and the hobbits (among many more) has finally reached Rivendell from Minas Tirith. It's so great to know we have a King over the lands once again... ... and to know him personally is quite exciting!

Have a wonderful time on your Quest! I'll see you on the Road!
