Wii Lego LOTR game

I have the Lego LOTR game on Wii (yes, we haven't gotten anything more sophisticated than Wii and don't plan on it). I am clearly going to need help since I can't even get past the first scene. Is there a good internet site to go to to get help or is there someone here who can give me pointers. I'm not good with newer video games but I will say that back in the day I beat the original Nintendo Mario Brothers and all 36 (I think that's how many there were) levels of Sega Pac Man so I'm not completely void of skills.

On Youtube there are a lot of videos that shows how you complete every level in the game. I also have the game ( and the hobbit) on PS3 and I love it.

I guess you're right. I've never used it but I suppose that's my best bet. I'm a bit of a low tech guy but I'm sure it's easy to figure out. I'll just Google it. I'll get back to you If I have any questions I can't get answered there. Thanks.

My grandson helped me get started and I've got past a few sections. In the meantime if anybody else bumps into this thread and plays this game let me know.

I liked it, but (alas!) I never got quite to the end because my Wii system broke. It was a good, fun game - I spent one really long and very funny hour with my sisters, trying to get Legolas to climb up Orthanc Tower to access the Saruman character; and then for some inexplicable reason, just as I was getting close to the top, Legolas suddenly transformed into Gollum and threw himself off the tower. Or there was the time Gollum got stuck hanging upside-down from a tightrope on Rauros falls. Or when I used the hairbrush and accidentally gave most of my characters spiky blue haircuts.

I bet It's going to be a long time before I get to that point. Did you notice that if you have trouble getting through a certain section that the game will let you through anyways if you play it a long time?.....or at least that's what it seems like....I was wondering if you noticed.

I think I was on Weathertop for about an hour before I figured out what to do! Where are you up to now?

After getting through 3 or 4 sections I ended up in the Shire. You would think that it would have started there. I don't understand why it doesn't seem to be going in order. Maybe I just haven't figured it out yet.

You can play all the levels, but in between you can walk around through the parts of Middle-earth you've unlocked. And you can replay levels by going to the map and clicking on certain signposts.

I haven't gone to the map. I have only gone to the next level that they automatically took me to. I'll figure it out. That's part of the fun. Since I'm so bad with these things I probably get more satisfaction than most folks when I figure it out. Thanks again.

My favorite thing is that you can take a beating....like dying lots of times....and seem to have an infinity of lives. That gentleness is important to gamers like me who are seriousely lacking in skills. It's probably like this because Lego games draw a younger crowd. My grandson tells me that all (or at least most) games with a Lego theme are pretty forgiving to players.

I like the gentleness; sometimes you need games like that after the more intense stuff (well, Kingdom Hearts is tame compared to a lot of stuff, but it's intense to me), to just relax at night. You've inspired me to want to play this game again! I think I might.

Oh good, I hope you do. That way I'll have somebody to get advice from. My 17 year old grandson helped me a couple days ago. I'm starting to get better but it's slow progress. I just don't catch on to things as well as I did when I was young. I still haven't resorted to help from You Tube. That would be a last resort.
