Wow! [In reply to] Can't Post

Oh, Goldie, that is beautiful! The colors are so rich and textured. I think you've captured Bag End wonderfully. Smile

So that's what it is! [In reply to] Can't Post

Sorry, in your little avatar it looked like a frog with the door being the eye.Tongue
Nice soft nostalgic feel to the image and I'm glad you left out the tree on top. This never sat right with me. How can you possibly biuld a house under the roots of a massive tree?

Dreamlike [In reply to] Can't Post

Yes, that is the word I would call it - dreamlike. I see more shade and more cliffs - and the back of the hill looks like it drops off a cliff. However, the colors are nice, and the foreground is nice - it's just that the background seems a little too out-of-focus...

atmospheric perspective [In reply to] Can't Post

If I remember the term right, it's been a while since I thought of terms in artwork. I think that is called atmospheric perspective.

Aerial perspective - Wikipedia

Atmospheric or Aerial Perspective - Studio Chalk Board:

I think you know that though...right! or to you think it is too exaggerated. I think it is just right because the hill is quite close, while the plains and hills are quite distant.

wow....almost dreaming imagery here... [In reply to] Can't Post

I want to try and draw the Grey Havens scene but I just havent the talent (as looking from the book and not the film).

This is amazing, though

and yet those remain unchanged
unto they journey westward
over the sea...
