My younger brother's clay models

my little brother Andy made these during a summer art course at a local studio
he's 13 (almost 14) now and about to start high school (eep!)
He's quite proud of them and couldn't wait to show me
here they are:
 
the one ring of course
I believe he threw it on the potter's wheel
 
and Orthanc
he said he made it as tall as the studio staff would let him (it needed to fit in the kiln)
MWA HAHAHAHAHA
my brother is thoroughly "corrupted"

and complicate them more than need be
a tendency my parents are sure he picked up from me
and yes, he has a lot of patience, at least with art
he didn't mind spending all his time on just two pieces while the other kids were making lots of smaller/lesser quality items
his original plan was to make Barad-dūr to go along with Orthanc, then he realized what a big project he had taken on

I'd imagined it that way because I'd always thought of the magickal black rock of Numenore to be a lot like obsidian, which when polished is quite glossy.

At one time he was Dreamworks' top man. At least that's what then Dreamworks' CEO said after the Disney merger where Disney wanted to cut benefits at DW and my brother left the company. He apparently was so good that the DW CEO went to the Disney VP and told him, "You just cost me my best man." My brother left Hollywood around 12 years ago or so to marry his highschool sweetheart who had divorced at apparently the right time and he now lives in Alexandria, VA.
