More little fan art!

Hello all, we have three little haf-elves and they all want their art displayed, so here is the next one! This is Legolas by our 7-year old boy. He loves Legolas. Unlike his brother he has seen all three films, we had to arrange for some-one to babysit our other two while he watched each film as it's too long to keep them "out of the way" and we both wanted to be with the 7-year when he watched the movies for the first time. At the end of the extended RotK he turned to us and said, can we watch them all again now! Hope you like his Legolas

isn't it fun to have one of your kids ( or in my case, grandkids) who fall in love with this story and can share it with you. My granddaughter never drew any pics like these, but it was fun paraphrasing the whole story to her when she was 4 1/2, and it was a constant "and then what happened, Mamaw?"

This was to replace a massive Bilbo that was extremely difficult to view, I can't remember what I wrote on that post so I hope this all makes sense now!
Many thanks to Eledhwen for helping me out! This was drawn by my daughter who loves The Hobbit, it was read to her first at school and now she is gong to have a go at reading for herself! Note the hairy feet!

The pipe smoke looks a lot like one. What a stout-hearted looking Bilbo - just lovely.

He caught Legolas rather well, I think. It seems you have raised a few dedicated fans For a 7-year-old to watch these 3-hour-plus movies is something, I think - I doubt the daughter of my cousin would have had the patience to keep sitting still for so long at that age.
I do not suffer from LotR obsession - I enjoy every minute of it.

Another wonderful picture of Bilbo, complete with braces and pipe and all. You'll need to get a few more copies of TH and LotR in the near future, to meet the need for five avid readers

I asked my daughter and she has not heard of Koru and I must admit neither have I. Although now you mention it I do recognise it as a style, thank you for your comments

But if you googled "Koru - Maori Art" or something similar, you might be able to see some examples. The basic koru pattern is based around an unfurling fern frond, symbolising new life. It is used in lots of Maori art. You can see a stylised version of it on the tail of Air New Zealand planes.
