goofy looking pastel thing. One minute it makes me laugh then the next I am not sure what to think of it. It was a rush job for the Hobbit contest. But it is something fun to celebrate the making of the Hobbit and I hope the movie does not vary in anyway from Peter Jackson's LOTR, no matter who is really in charge, as far as directors and producers and dream ruining politics go, to me Ian McKellen will always be Gandalf and Ian Holm will always be Bilbo.

I can never get my drawings of people to look like the people they're supposed to represent, but anybody glancing at this would know immediatelty that it's Ian and Ian. What a fun drawing!

for the Ians and the horses came from books. I seem to be able to draw what I see to some extent but trying to do fantasy is really aggravating because my eyes can't see the picture in my mind. Its like it has to go in through my eyes and out through my hands. The back ground I made up in a hurry so that is why it looks so out of perspective I think. The Ent Maiden was the opposite, the back ground was from the photo my son took of the sunrise and the Ent Maiden I tried to piece together once again from movie references but this time it was from all those books I have. At least I can justify to the "others" that the all those LOTR books on the shelves were worth the money and they most definitely deserve to take up precious space in the home. Some times I have a hard time with the proportion of the drawing to the size of the paper. I start drawing and end up with it not fitting on the page which is what happened with the Hobbit drawing. Thanks for the nice words.
