Would you buy a 48fps version? Can't Post

It's 2015, you just got yourself a fancy new 4K 3D TV. The Hobbit trilogy is released in a 4K format in four different versions. Which would you buy and why?

2D 48 fps [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't care about 3D at all, but would love to see a film in 2D 48 fps. I've been dying to see HFR since first hearing about Douglas Trumbull's version in the late 80s. Who knows, if BotFA ends up being good enough to see more than once (DoS was not, and i was too poor when AUJ came out, which i saw twice), i'll catch once in 3D HFR, even though i find the whole 3D experience much too artificial and distracting.

I'll have a 3D TV long before 2015... [In reply to] Can't Post

hopefully by the time the Extended Edition for DoS is out. My old TV was dying, but luckily my parents had a newer older one. Compared to my old one, this TV is HUGE! It's a 27 incher (I've only had the puny 20 inchers until now). I've never had a problem with 3D. What so bad about having your favorite character even closer to you than he would usually be in 2D? Too bad you can't reach out and grab him, but unfortunately you would only be grabbing air. I would definitely buy any of the Hobbit movies in the 48fps 3D (especially since I've seen most of them at least once in this format, and I'll probably end up doing the same for the upcoming BoFA, no matter how much I may be dreading it), though I can't tell the difference between this version and the regular RealD 3D.Smile

I'd like to have the 48 3d version... [In reply to] Can't Post

if someone bought me the TV to play it on. There's not enough stuff worth watching for me to justify that kind of expense.

Fortunately for me.... [In reply to] Can't Post

I love the Marvel Stuff and many other 3D movies and I can justify the expense since my tastes warrant it. Although not a fan of Titanic, I bought it just to see what a 3D conversion could look like in the hands of a 3D devotee, James Cameron. The result was, I could almost like this movie! I love beautiful period set productions, and with this conversion, it's almost like you are there on set. It's wonderful.
