I am thousands of years old.
Your powers of deduction re my username are entirely logical but not airtight. In the realm of Middle-earth, Elven grey can have other connotations besides age. I will neither confirm nor deny said meanings are relevant here. As to the other info you sussed out, no fair accessing personal factoids unavailable to the board at large. Availing myself of all that wisdom you believe in my possession, your penalty is guessing my exact age. Guess wrong and I ain't telling. So there, Miss Smarty Pants!

I've had a rather precocious childhood though, and I'm told that I act like someone twice my age. I've also held a lot of responsibility (and full-time job) since I was 15, and that accelerated my maturing process. I am also more comfortable in a group of older people than my temporal peers. I really am an 'old soul'.

Well, I wouldn't say 42 is my exact age but it does make for such a profound and tidy answer, I'll take it!!

when TORn first got going, we had a lot more guys than gals, and a lot of folks in their 30s. That all changed when the first movie came out and the first wave of Legi-lovers hit the boards. Too many of the old guard were driven out by the gushing and didn't return, even after the insanity died down. The demographics for the Reading Room may be different.

so that means that I'll be the same age as Richard Armitage for a few weeks! Otherwise, I'm usually one year and three days younger, but if we were born in the same year, I would be a month older, since I was born in July. I've never had a favorite that close in age before (although Thorin's much older), since they're usually a lot older than that. In contrast, whenever I like someone that's younger than me (even favorites), it never lasts, since the only cougar I know is my grandmother. When my grandfather was still alive (he died of cancer nearly six years ago), she was four years older.

I've been debating the hair dye issue for the past few years. I'm in my late fifties & have been coloring it for a long time. When I mention going natural people always say "but you'll look so old!". I might try it out this summer. I see women with grey hair that I love and then I see women with grey that makes me think they should do something about that hair. I guess it varies from person to person. My husband did not like makeup, heels, piercing or anything unnatural. I never told him I dyed my hair but I think he suspected.

I tell people? I will be 57 in May but when my daughter was ten & I was 37 she said she wished I was 30 because it would make it easier for her to remember my age. Her dad was 40 when she was born so she could remember his easily. My reply was "I can be 30" so from then on me & my,husband told everyone I was 7'years younger than I am. My husband loved it because that made me 20 years younger than him instead of 13. When my daughter got older she'd always correct me when I lied about my age but now she's almost 30 & doesn't bother & my husband died 4 years ago so who's to know my real age. So that means I turn 50 in May. Oh, that's a big one. I should do something special.

would be they are too busy raising families to have time to spend here. But I'm way busier than my daughter who's almost 30 because I have my parents to take care of. I just have better priorities.
