Although I thought nos. 2 & 4 were okay. 3 was definitely the worst, but then what do you expect when they start filming before the script is finished?

The first one is a true classic and one of the greatest films of all time and also put Johnny Depo for an Oscar nom. The second was ok and the third and fourth were terrible.

But I love At World's End. I love how all the characters are being pushed to their final limits. They all made mistakes, but they all redeemed themselves in the end one way or another. Dead Man's Chest is my second favorite. I like the plot of Davy Jones, and how Will Turner gets conflicted between Elizabeth and his father. Also, the comical scenes are hilarious! Curse of the Black Pearl is an awesome beginning. Barbossa stole the show as the bad guy. (Let me not forget that Johnny Depp is the Pirates of the Caribbean, so he is awesome in all of them) On Stranger Tides was good enough. I liked Philip and Syrena's subplot and thought the mermaid scenes were cool. Blackbeard fitted the film enough, but I found Angelica a little too controlling for Jack Sparrow, so I thought she came across as a little annoying. (Noting, Elizabeth was slightly annoying at times for me, but I always enjoyed her spunk. I thought Angelica was a little bossy and controlling.) That being sad, I love these movies alot, and I have good memories first watching them with my mom, as we wanted something new to watch after we had finished a LOTR's marathon.

That was a classic pirate movie that happened to have some supernatural twists in it. All the sequels were set in a fantasy world with pirate flavoring. Not that there's anything wrong with fantasy worlds, or I wouldn't belong to this site, but I didn't like the shift from a first story that could have happened in a lost corner of the Caribbean, to the sequels that clearly couldn't happen in the real world. My suspension of disbelief was stretched painfully close to the limit in all the sequels.
