Marvel's The Avengers [In reply to] Can't Post

The first Avengers film is the best one, it has humor, a great villain and we see the heroes working together. Age of Ultran and Guardians of the Galaxy are close second and third place but it can't beat the avengers. I have always enjoyed the team films like the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and Age of Ultran then the solo films.

The Avengers. I have not, however, seen Ant-Man yet.

Captain America 1st Avenger [In reply to] Can't Post

To me it has it all - Nazis, WW2, a self-sacrificing hero and Agent Carter. I also liked Winter Soldier, and think Civil War could be the best Marvel movie ever!

Guardians was the most fun for me, but in terms of academic film-making qualities I think Winter Soldier is probably "best".

The Avengers. [In reply to] Can't Post

That's my favorite of them all. Loki is my favorite villain of all these movies and having the heroes go at each other before eventually fighting together was cool to see unfold.
My other favorites, in no particular order, are Ultron, Winter Soldier and Iron Man 1 and 3.
I thought the rest were pretty good but not my favorites except Ant Man which I thought kinda sucked but I watched it on an airplane. I'll have to watch that one again I suppose.

Either Captain America: The Winter Soldier or Guardians Of The Galaxy [In reply to] Can't Post

I've only seen a few of the Marvel films though, and to be honest they mostly feel like generic superhero action movies to me, so it's kinda hard to be subjective about them...

I hated Iron Man 3 and found Age Of Ultron fairly boring though...

"Guardians" is best [In reply to] Can't Post

Followed by "The Winter Soldier."

Marvel and Netflix's "Daredevil" trumps all, though.

I have to say The Avengers [In reply to] Can't Post

because I love the story of how all these alpha personalities become a team. Joss Whedon handled that problem brilliantly, I thought. And also, because Loki was so awesome in that movie, more so than in either Thor movie.

That said, I have a weakness for the Thor movies, because I want to live in Asgard. And also: Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman are my favorite Avenger power couple. (I love the bit in Age of Ultron where Tony Stark & Thor try to one-up each other by bragging about Pepper and Jane.)

The Avengers [In reply to] Can't Post

One of my all-time favorite movies. Loki is one of the best villains in any franchise, let alone the MCU. I named one of my ferrets Loki, because it's pretty much the perfect name for mischievous and sneaky little creatures!

Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, and Thor: The Dark World are probably second. Guardians of the Galaxy was funny, and let's face it, where else can you see a talking raccoon shoot a machine gun? You can't go wrong with that. I hated Age of Ultron though, so I'm hoping Infinity Wars redeems the series.

but before every x-men movie... [In reply to] Can't Post

but at the beginning of every x-men movie, there's that animated marvel logo... .and just googling "x-men" gets "x-men marvel universe" (many links). and wikipedia notes, "The X-Men are a fictional team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics."

cheers --

Marvel/Disney; Sony; and Fox [In reply to] Can't Post

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is comprised only of the movies being made by Marvel/Disney. Twentieth Century Fox has been making the X-Men and Fantastic Four movies, while Sony has been churning out the Spider-Man films. A new arrangement between Disney and Sony allows Spidey to appear in Captain America: Civil War.
