Anyone from the boards planning to go this year? Shuya and I just got our hotel room, and have already gotten our plane and con tickets. It's always a lot of fun, and I am especially looking forward to some potential 'Hobbit' news!

But as usual, I have no idea what I'll be doing this summer. Actually, forget the 'as usual' comment - this year I have even LESS idea than usual... So, I hope to be there but I don't have a pass and I heard they sold out, and I don't have a plan... Anyhoo, che sera and all that!

None of the individual days are sold out, so you could always come for at least a couple of the days (Fridays and Saturdays are usually when the biggest and best panels are). Christy and I have a room, and so far it's just us, so you'd have a bed to sleep in!

Ticket bought, hotel room pending...

Last year my family went down for a small family vacation. My dad bought the hotel room early at my insistence, but this year we're doing it his way. Apparently we could have gotten a much better deal if we had waited, so he is very insistent to "waiting for last minute". Considering that he managed to get us plane tickets to China 2 weeks before the actual flight, I'm trusting him. He has some mad travel skills. I'm hoping to see you all once more (the dinner last year was wonderful), and I do hope that TORn will have another panel this year! And, after listening to Sohaib and MrCere's segment on Fictional Frontiers, I'm hoping that we'll see something on the Lovely Bones there as well. Book was amazing.

I have hit several roadblocks regarding rooming arrangements with the group I was supposed to be going with (who now may not be going since they haven't gotten their tickets yet), but I will be there even if it means sleeping in my truck and finding a 24 Hour Fitness to shower in. Very, very excited for the inevitable moot!

I am now sharing a room with Deej, but I'll hold on to my reservation at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina (3 miles away, but on the shuttle route), in case anyone else needs a triple ($218/night). I'd be happy to transfer the room, if another Ringer needs it. ---Tamara

I should have added I'll only hold it for a few weeks, since I don't want to be one of those people I always complain about- hoarding a room until a week before, when you can't afford to fly, get the time off from work, etc. So, let's say Mid-April if you are interested. ---Tamara

I'll be there, with bells on, maybe, if they fit into my costuming scheme. My friend and I had hotel space we set up last year after con, and that's a good thing because hotel sales sucked big time, yet again this year through Travel Planners.

I saw Guillermo Del Toro at a book signing today and asked if he was attending. He said he wasn't, but then mentioned someone else who was, and I completely blanked on who he was talking about until I was in the car driving home. If I'd been paying attention, I would have gotten him to confirm it, so I'm off to confirm this news before I spill it. But if it is confirmed, it's BIG.
