Our friend Ian at the Tolkien Society writes in that this year, Oxonmoot is longer! Oxonmoot has been extended one day and will run from Thursday, September 25th to Sunday, September 28th. Oxonmoot: or a Moot in Oxford is a long-running weekend event and features a number of varied activities for everyone including an art show, sales room, hospitality room, two days of events and the party on the Saturday evening in the “Harry Potter” dining hall. On Sunday morning there will be the remembrance ceremony, Enyalië, at Professor Tolkien's grave in Wolvercote Cemetery. For booking enquiries, email bookings@tolkiensociety.org , and those interested in giving a paper can email osc.dte@tolkeinsociety,org.
Koru: Maori symbol representing a fern frond as it opens. The koru reaches towards the light, striving for perfection, encouraging new, positive beginnings.

I can't make it this year, but that is excellent and somewhere I need to be at least once. Clearly the ultimate moot.

but haven't yet managed to get round to it! I've been to Wolvercote Cemetary and the Eagle & Child pub and various other Tolkien-related places in Oxford, but Oxonmoot is definitely on my list of must-dos within the next five years!

The Christ Church chefs are good at posh dinners, and generally okay at normal dinners. Although the hall was only really the inspiration for Hogwarts - it's too delicate to film in there, they have stupidly strict limits for fire safety reasons ... ChCh rooms are nice too; I should know, I lived in them for three years!
