The Hobbit DVD isn't issued until May 1st in Australia and there will be a special showing of the film in a lovely art deco cinema in Sydney to mark the event. To make it even more special, Richard Armitage, en route to New Zealand for the final block of filming, will be there for a live Q&A session. Tickets can be bought through this site:

over in Fiesta that somebody (I think Elven) had got tickets for this. I'm well envious but since you guys Down Under have had to wait sooo long for the DVD, it's only fair really

I posted on the main page where I could find no mention of it and then my post was moved. The thing is, I never check out other pages and I can imagine that a lot of people don't either. I seem to have alerted a few people who would otherwise not have known, so it's all good!
Let's hope that everyone has a great time and reports back their experience. And it will provide an excellent opportunity for a meet-up. Hope people are getting together some incisive questions, LOL! RA is an obliging speaker and perhaps some fascinating facts about the DoS can be wheedled out of him.
