If only it weren't so big. I have a short video that I downloaded of James Marsters reciting "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" - MacBeth - in an accent more American than not. But it's 4,249 kb. *fans self after watching it again*

They do all of the Bard's plays in 90 minutes. I laughed so hard I nearly choked at some scenes. Titus Andronicus as a cooking show, Othello as a rap song ("Iago was a menace 'cos he hated Othello, the Moor of Venice!"), the play-within-a-play in Hamlet done with hand puppets, and - well, words can't begin to approach what they do to Hamlet and Macbeth. Highly recommended.

we will soon see Finn AKA Peter Dinklage in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian as - you guessed it - Trumpkin. The Station Agent is definitely one of my all-time favorites. Over the years I've come here to discover many movies I would not otherwise have seen. I have my Netflix page open when I'm browsing this movie thread so I can toggle back and forth to add titles to my queue as I read the reviews here. I now have 382 movies in my queue. . . thanks, TORN!

because that's where I got it. What an incredible artist - and with such incredible patience! The very first work he does in the film is utterly fantastic and hooks you into wanting more and more.

I'd read some of the novel in The New Yorker, and I didn't see how it would translate to film, but it actually did. The movie took a while to hook me, but it ultimately did. (Minor complaint: it's hard to see Elijah look so odd for so long!) I'll give it 3 stars, I guess.

Look out everyone, here come the brides! Boy, did you bring back memories! Here Come the Brides was a favorite of mine, back in the day. Way back. Way, way back. Bobby Sherman was all the rage, but I liked Robert Brown, who played Jason. Sherman was too short for a lumberjack. I caught a rerun once, many years later (probably on Nick at Night) and realized how, uh, well, not so great the show was. I never made the Sarek - Aareon Stempel AKA Mark Lenard connection, though. Thanks for that!

Passion is my favorite Buffy episode....Angelus at his most deliciously evil best. But, yeah, the accent was horrible. I'm glad the years wandering the earth trying to redeem himself resulted in its dissolution... I will say, though, that this huge Buffy fan has stopped watching Angel. I found myself dissatisfied in one way or another on a fairly regular basis, so I stopped after Season 1. I'll probably go back to it someday. I'm hoping Firefly is more satisfying (I liked Serenity a lot). Cheers.

I didn't care that much for Angel (the series) either. I watched a lot in the beginning out of loyalty to Buffy, but then got disinterested in the Jasmine plot line. I did reconnect towards the end and I still think the last episode was brilliant. Firefly, on the other hand, is spectacular. Definitely, definitely, definitely watch it.

Nanny McPhee, Malice Aforethought

Nanny McPhee - rather horrible, I'm afraid, although young children would probably like it. Mary Poppins meets Sound of Music, but with very over-the-top caracatures (like Matilda, if you've ever seen that), which was okay but not what I expected. Colin Firth is, once again, Colin Firth. *ducks* Yes, I know he has avid fans here because of his Darcy, but I will freely admit I am not one of them. To me he's the same in every movie he's in. I have the same complaint about Tom Cruise. To each his own, I suppose. Not recommended. Malice Aforethought (2005) - a BBC Mystery film that I rented solely because I wanted to see Richard Armitage in another role. (It's a very small role, but enough to give me some appreciation of his acting talent.) This features Megan Dodds, who played a significant role in Spooks until Matthew MacFadyen's character left, and who was the beautifully nasty stepsister Marguerite in Ever After, which I cannot help recalling whenever I see her in another role. This Malice Aforethought is entertaining and well-made. Ben Miller is perfect as the despicable Dr. Edmund Bickleigh. Recommended. By the way, if you haven't checked out Spooks, AKA MI5 in the U.S., I highly advise you to do so. I absolutely love the series, which I rented from Netflix and watched in marathon style. I'd probably buy it if I were inclined to buy DVDs at all.

but dang, it's hard to find. It moves around a lot, then disappears for a while, comes back for an episode or two, then vanishes again.

when shows do that. I've been wanting to watch Spooks or M15 for a while, even more so after seeing Matthew McFayden in P&P, so i'll have to get to those dvds soon.

We just watched it this weekend and I was gasping aloud in parts. I see it as a cross between Goodfellas and LA Confidential. Excellent.

I so w ant to see this. All I had to hear was "half naked David Wenham and Gerard Butler" and i was so there. Plot? Who needs a plot. "Troy" worked just fine without one. ;)

I'm really tempted to see this movie just based on the visuals! But I really don't care for the sex and violence, or Frank Miller's work and the previous film Sin City, also adapted from his comics. The film looks great of course, but if it's just a machismo fest as everyone seems to point out, then I've lost interest. I will say that I really liked Ridley Scott's Gladiator and could stomach the violence. But violence for the sake of violence turns me off. Is there anything this movie has to offer for someone like myself? Is there something I'm just not seeing?
