The Lost Swords Can't Post

Hello: I am a big fan of both Tokien and Fred Saberhaggen. I have been trying to get some information if hollywood is considering making a movie(s) on the book series. I have even considered getting in contact with Philippa Boyens to see what she that of making a script for it.

To have the books made into movies would be a grand venture. I sure Weta could do it. To see the swords at work would be great.

Have any of you guys read the books? What do you think?

Welcome to TORn! And yes [In reply to] Can't Post

I read the Saberhagen books long ago. I don't remember details but I do remember enjoying them, but it was at least 15 years ago.

I keep an eye on fantasy books in development for film, and I haven't heard anything about the Lost Sword books.

Phillipa has a LOT of things to keep her busy right now so I have my doubts about her having time to pick up Saberhagen's books. She has several scripting projects lined up that should keep her busy for a decade or so, or longer even so don't get your hopes up.

Even if she was interested, the rights would need to be purchased and either a studio or Peter Jackson would need to be pretty keen on having movies made and he is busy like her.

Perhaps another talented director or writer could pick them up?

Again, welcome to TORn! Sly

Once upon a time I was MrCere. I still am but this name is for posting and being part of the community while that one is for official business. 8-)
