It's been a long (long) time! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Good morning to you too.
Out of the darkness of my life, so much frustrated, I put before you the one great thing to love on earth: the Blessed Sacrament... There you will find romance, glory, honour, fidelity, and the true way of all your loves on earth, and more than that: Death: by the divine paradox, that which ends life, and demands the surrender of all, and yet by the taste (or foretaste) of which alone can what you seek in your earthly relationships (love, faithfulness, joy) be maintained, or take on that complexion of reality, of eternal endurance, which every man's heart desires. --J.R.R. Tolkien, Letter #43, to his son Michael

There is nothing like a greetings thread to put me in the way back machine. I love that we may finally do this again after years of it being unauthorized. You wrote: "Hope everyone had a good weekend." But I say, "I hope everyone had a good past five years." Mine was fine (the weekend and past five years). Have a cup o' coffee on me.

One can't just go around a-splatting after such a long hiatus. It takes time to rehabilitate, work on aim, get on a power diet, running every morning, weight training, etc.

Like it used to be, but you never know. Has it been 5 years though? Goodness. Well I would have to say I've had my up and downs, but currently life is quite good and should prove to just get better.

or good afternoon as it is here or possibly good evening or night at other places around the globe. So if you are in training surely you need a Rocky style training monatage *cue eye of the tiger*

I actually have today off work. I finally found an employer who recognizes Presidents' Day. UT had to go to work as usual, though, so I only have the dog to talk to. Oh, and my imaginary friends here.

This Off Topic area looks like it will be safe hahaha. A lot has changed though, and I still think the some of the antics of 6 years ago should perhaps remain in the past. I was kinda shocked to find the "Good Morning" thread had been somewhat outlawed for being "off topic". It was casual threads like that that helped form the community in the first place. They opened people up beyond the movies/books and into simple everyday stuff, like I like arabica coffee! Still, this ceased being "my" board when I stopped coming around. We made the boards what it was back then and others made it their own in turn. Who am I to find any fault with that? ANWAY. I'm just glad Fiesta Friday is still going strong haha! You guys have done just fine without us old "legends" -- which is kinda embarrassing really, since there are others around here that have been here longer than me and have maintained a presence on the boards all this time. And yes, Alnilam, da rien is how I have been taught as well.
mmmm pie!

When we had that huge influx the board was moving so far we had to stop off topicness like that - shame but lets see what this board allows us to do!

I've only been registered here for about two and a half years, but I remember you. It's a rare sighting, though, and I've never seen a "good morning" thread before. Hope you can be around more. Just tea, thank you!

Rented a couple of movies with the missus, put tup the cables for the surround sound system (christmas present from the missus), installed some curtain thingys for the missus, got a new "memory foam mattress topper" that worked MUCH better than I expected...didn't want to get out of bed this morning! And new boards to boot, how could the weekend have been any better?

My niece is here & we spent the weekend cutting out & sewing new curtains for my office. And eating out and going to see a movie (The History Boys) as well as watching all of "Bleak House" while sewing. Now we're packing up all the stuff she had stored at my house as she has a new job & new apartment in Seattle.
