Freaking out at a clairvoyant dream!

This is so weird! Last night I dreamed that it was about 2 AM and I was on 106th Street walking down to a subway stop on 103rd St. It was just strange because I'm never that far uptown, don't know the area at all and didn't know why I'd even be thinking about that neighborhood. I mentioned the dream to my husband and he was like, "Why would you be up there?" Well, I just got a call from a potential business partner I've been talking to, and he wants me to meet him today or tomorrow at a building on 106th St.! And I just checked a subway map and there's a stop at 103rd St.!!! But I'll be meeting him around 5PM-ish, not 2 AM-ish. I've had sort of vaguely clairvoyant-ish dreams before, but never with this level of specificity. I mean, what are the chances the exact street numbers would match? Just really astonished and wanted to share.

I never have dreams matching RL. Although, I once wrote a short story, and in the next two months I learned much of the the protagonist's character and life matched with someone I really liked (but had some distance to) at that time. Even with things I couldn't even know at the time of writing, like how long ago he first met his wife. Really freaky.

I wouldn't freak out; I'd take it as a good omen that you're supposed to be there.

I' will occassionally have a disconcerting dream. But when I awake, I'm pretty clear that, although I may have been in the dream, it didn't have anything to do with me. Then, I'll pick up the paper, or turn on the tv (to morning news) or listen to All Things Considered... and hear a news report that is very similar to my dream. Even if the exact details aren't the same, the basic tenor of the two are. I have a vague notion this could be connected to going through menopause... (and in saying that, I had a similar sort of clairvoyent experience at puberty).

I had one dream about work where the office (in Houston at the time) was (according to my dream) relocating to Pittsburgh. At the meeting announcing this, one of my (male) coworkers told us we should all make sure we wore nail polish to work because it gave you a professional appearance. Then we all boarded buses and set out for Pittsburgh. The next day (in real life) I told my dream to a coworker. A few days later, it was announced that the company was experiencing a change of ownership and *was* relocating...to Dallas. The weird thing is that my coworker was privy to all the negotiations, and there was a strong possibility at one point that we would be going to Pittsburgh. When I told him my dream he about died but couldn't say anything to me about it because it was confidential at that point. Perhaps I'd overheard something about moving to Pittsburgh, but on a subconscious level. I don't know. The other prescient dream concerned an ex-boyfriend of mine. While I was dating him I dreamed we were embracing and he was about to stab me in the back. This was a few weeks before a breakup that really took me by surprise. Looking back on it, the dream was probably my subconscious telling me something I most likely had figured out about the guy.

nor puberty, but somewhere in the middle, so I don't think that's it in my case! >and hear a news report that is very similar to my dream. Even if the exact details aren't the same, the basic tenor of the two are. < I've had similar things, but chalked it up to so many news things going on every day, it's inevitable that something would sort of match my dream. But who knows . . .

I'll see if the actual street matches what I saw in the dream (though to be honest I don't remember it very clearly, just kind of desolate with big buildings, and a subway entrance, and a traffic light), and I'll post again if it does, or anything interesting happens. Yes, now the trick is to be able to do this with lottery numbers! I'll work on that.

A couple of months ago I had a vivid nightmare about witnessing a passgenger-jet crash in Salt Lake City. I haven't been there in years, though my brother used to live there. It was so powerful that I was afraid to open the paper the next morning. Nothing though. I really hope it was just an imaginative dream.

At least, I used to have them for years and I know of one other person who had them too. The human mind is a strange creature with many quirks that we don't understand yet. Just enjoy the ride. :)

The area looked different than it did in my dream -- there's a big hill which I wasn't expecting. But the guy I met with said he has predictive dreams all the time, and he told me a couple of interesting examples. Maybe the dream sort of came from him somehow? Anyway, he's a great guy and we're definitely going to be working together on one or more projects. So everything's working out great. And BTW, last night I dreamed of cantaloupe, and this morning I went into a meeting and my boss had brought in a big bowl of fruit salad, including cantaloupe! But that doesn't explain why I didn't dream of the other types of fruit that were in there. And of course advance knowledge of cantaloupe doesn't help me in the slightest. Still no lottery numbers, but I'll keep trying. ;-)
