Mine had a good range of colours thisy ear [In reply to] Can't Post

so i'm hoping I get the same next year. Seedlings are fiddly to handle but the plants do well. It's lovely to watch bees wriggling their way into them!

Ooh, i love old bookstores! [In reply to] Can't Post

I swear there are more than three dimensions in those places. There's a fantastic one in Alnwick NE England (Alnwick Castle was used in the Harry Potter films) in an old railway station, which has a brilliant mural featuring lots of different writers. https://www.barterbooks.co.uk/

A friend visited that recently during a trip to the area, she gushed on and on about it! Heart

A soda fountain counter? [In reply to] Can't Post

I am intrigued - that would be the original bookstore cafe! Laugh

And Gandalf's cousin manning the till? Oh, what a place that would be, to spend a rainy afternoon! Smile

Snapdragons are doing well for me, too. [In reply to] Can't Post

Yes, something pretty that the slugs ignore!

I saw some being sold as cut flowers, which it hadn't occurred to me to try - they're currently looking lovely indoors as well as outdoors, and last quite well in a vase.

Alts are a surprise if they're "good" [In reply to] Can't Post

It's so frustrating to have ingredient issues... especially with something as widespread a wheat. My sister is allergic to corn (among more). All things corn like corn syrup and cornmeal, etc. It's nearly impossible to find things without those ingredients. Even some pizza parlors use corn flour to roll out the dough. The smell of popcorn will throw her into agonizing migraines... so never going to the movies.

If you're going to eat the calories (croissants & donuts), they're GOT to taste good!

I hope you can squeeze a few more lovely fall days out of this season. It looks like mine here in Michigan are done. *sigh*

Do you think if you left the catio available inside your sweetie would check it out? ;) Have a great week!

You'll own the skies! :D [In reply to] Can't Post

OH HOW FUN! What a brilliant idea to get kites for your sis-in-law and yourself when you got the BEST kite for your brother! You'll have to tell us the look on his face when he sees it! Can't wait for the day you guys fly all 3 together. I'm sure there wouldn't be ANY competition on who gets theirs up fastest ;) You'll have to get different coloured string so you'll know how to unravel them when you "cross the streams" (love Ghost Busters!)

Very smart to get your plantings before the rush. I hope you have GREAT success with their vigour and rapid growth.

Have a great week! :D

A dream RR journey!! :D [In reply to] Can't Post

You took my dream train ride! Our local steam train apparently wasn't running this season. I kept looking for ticket since early September; but they never had any schedules or tickets anywhere along the way. *sigh* You absolutely had a very long, action-packed day! It's all good when everything turns out as perfectly as yours... including the bed crashing!

I took daughter to her new acupuncturist in a city a bit farther away then the one she's been see for the past year through the VA. She came out feeling hardly any pain in her joints and muscles. Needless to say... there was a big smile on her face that turned into a serene grin the nearly 1 hr drive home. We're also going to another house hunting with daughter and g'son Thursday. The 3 we're seeing are much more compatible with their needs and ability to maintain yet are more quaint and inviting than the 4 to 5 bedroom large homes we saw last week.

You telling about the Hawk having lunch on the lawn by the feeders reminds me that one of my local eagles glided slowly and lowly right over my head toward Pickle's yard!!! I ran after it hollering and making a racket! I also hung a hole bunch more silver, shiny, bird-reflecting tape/ribbons off of the series of ropes I have strewn all over the airspace over his yard! So far, so good.

I hope you have a great week and weekend! :D

indeed [In reply to] Can't Post

you really have to check the food labels! Although I only get GI upsets. Migraines just from smelling corn would be a real liability!

Charlie has a cat tree inside which I've now moved in front of the sliding glass door which used to be his access to the catio. My place is too small to have it up inside, & anyway I don't think he'd use it. He does have a tunnel to run through/hide in. And a box he likes to hang out in. And a paper bag that I just leave on the floor because he'd rather sit on that than on the carpet. And a lot of toys . . .

I am a dreamer of words, of written words.

The Eagles are coming...NOT! [In reply to] Can't Post

Sheesh, how much stuff does one have to hang to get those raptors to understand: they are NOT WELCOME here!

That new acupuncturist is well worth the extra drive!

Those sound like huge homes you were being shown! Do they need one that's more like yours? With a garage, I hope, winters in your area can get quite snowy. And they'd want to keep the new car safe. Keep us updated!
