good point about the type of pan [In reply to] Can't Post

I left full-handed! [In reply to] Can't Post

Laugh! With two shopping-bags on one arm, and carrying a folk art birdhouse in my other. It's decorated like a barn with an "eggs for sale" sign! It'll go to my Texas brother, we give each other quirky stuff for presents.

Fortunately it's just touching 80, but humid, I wish the rain would fall instead of hang in the air!

Around here the students [In reply to] Can't Post

often set up at a fire station for their car washes. Youthful enthusiasm makes for a sparkling car!

I looked up that recipe, and really appreciate how she goes into detail on why and when certain ingredients are used and what their effect is in the baking. I'm going to keep the "reverse creaming" method in mind.

And the end result looks delicious! You'll need some friends over to help consume it? Angelic

Great video! [In reply to] Can't Post

My compliments to the editor(s), I can only imagine how many hours of searching through films it took to find the best segments!

12 hours straight? That's ridiculous - and should be illegal somehow!

That's quite an array of spices! [In reply to] Can't Post

Then to seal with a yogurt mixture - wow. Blackberry and apple pie, and scones...if you and Mr Kimi ever decide to open a little restaurant, you may find a few of us flying there just for the experience! Cool

What a pain with the road closures. Had they any idea that might ever happen? It was most likely the rains that loosened everything?

Finally! [In reply to] Can't Post

So good to get the relief, even just for a couple of days, but that sounds like a nice soaking the ground and crops got. Smile

L&P? All the way from NZ? That fizzy lemonade must help take an edge off the heat! Cool

A driving course! [In reply to] Can't Post

That does sound fun! How old must the kids be, to try that, or does it just depend on whether they're tall enough to see the path?

How large is this latest quilting project, and do you have a theme?

I think there must be booster seats [In reply to] Can't Post

for some of the children! They're just steering a figure of eight between pairs of cones on the field; the driving instructor has the controls. I hope they're being given some words of wisdom while they're in there. The quilting project is a bed throw using check fabrics - without having to join up the checks, which would be a nightmare. Been there, done that - not doing it again. I make self-contained circular units then sew them onto squares which are then joined up. I cut out a circle and lay it right side up. On top of it I place a circle of lightweight iron-on interfacing the same size, sticky side up. After sewing round the edge leaving a small seam allowance, I make a cut in the interfacing, push the fabric through and smooth it out. Then, when I iron it, the interfacing sticks to the fabric and I have a self-contained circle than can be appliqued onto another piece of fabric. There's probably a proper name for that, but I don't know it. Any patchworkers out there who know?

oh no [In reply to] Can't Post

My knee doesn't allow me to do steep hills these days. We'll hike to the campsites at the bridge, 2 miles in, have lunch, and stroll on back. It's going to be warm so a creekside forest hike should be just the ticket.
