First Lord of the Rings reading experience:
I discovered a beat-up copy of "Return of the King" in my elementary school library in 5th grade, read it, and only later read FOTR and TTT. By the time I was 15, I'd read everything from Tolkien's legendarium available at that time. In other words: obsessed!
Favorite Tolkien character:
Gollum: one of the most distinctive characters in 20th century literature, and decisive proof that Tolkien was not the antiquarian re-hashing Old English tropes that he's been accused of being.
